Discover treasures in Melbourne's lanes and arcades, learn about the history and making of chocolate, participate in a chocolate tasting session. This walking tour includes 2 morning teas!

Saturday, 10am – Tour highlights (itinerary may be changed without notice – read more)

Start the morning at Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie by having petit-fours (chocolate!) and your favourite drink – hot chocolate, tea or coffee. Still at this food temple, we start our tasting session! We chat about the growing and making of chocolate, then you have fine chocolates from Australia, Belgium and/or Switzerland (some made from the best cacao beans in the world).

Wander through The Block Arcade, home to Haigh's Chocolates, an Australian chocolate family dynasty established in 1915. At Haigh's you taste unique chocolates and learn about the company's history, while soaking up the atmosphere of the most elegant arcade in Melbourne.

We now walk up Collins Street to one of Melbourne's fine heritage icons, the Manchester Unity Building. This is home to Caffé Mediterraneum, where you will be served a freshly-made Belgian chocolate muffin cake and your favourite drink (a hot chocolate if your heart so desires...).

When – Saturday, at 10am; this tour can be arranged on weekdays for groups (conditions apply and locations may be changed due to their availability on weekdays)
Tours occur throughout the year, in all weather conditions
Duration – 1.5–2 hours approximately
Meeting time – Saturday tours: 9.55am (for a 10am start)

Meeting point – Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie (see map), 306 Little Collins Street (corner of Little Collins Street and The Causeway, between Swanston and Elizabeth Streets), Melbourne. Tour size – maximum number is 26 participants (individuals and groups are welcome; note that you don't need to have a group to join us). Due to some tour stops, the chocolate walking tours are not wheelchair or pram friendly

Private tours on Saturdays can be arranged only if your group has at least 26 participants (groups with less people will be joined by other chocoholics)

Cost – $35 (all-inclusive; adults or children – adults with children from 6 years of age must pay for the kids)

Payment – After availability of places is confirmed, payment (prior to the tour) can be made by MasterCard or Visa by telephone (03 9686 4655 or 0412 158 017) or online; alternatively, send a cheque or money order to 145/28 Southgate Avenue, Southbank, VIC, 3006 (attach a note with your name, tour date and tour name)

Recipients of gift vouchers should quote their voucher number when booking a tour (note: we cannot accept expired vouchers)

Extra gift – If you are joining us to celebrate an important occasion or want to add a special touch to your tour, request a gift pack with your booking! There are 3 options available (items cannot be sold separately) for an additional cost, and the pack is given to the recipient(s) on the day of their tour:

option A – a box with 8 chocolates from one of Melbourne's top chocolatiers and a specially made badge with the words "I'm a chocoholic" – $20 each
option B – 2 bag tags (with images of chocolate bars) and a specially made badge with the words "I'm a chocoholic" – $20 each
option C – a box with 8 chocolates from one of Melbourne's top chocolatiers, a badge with the words "I'm a chocoholic" and 2 bag tags (with images of chocolate bars) – $35 each

Cancellation policy

If you cancel your booking up to five (5) business days before the booked walk, you can book another tour (subject to availability) or request a refund.
If you cancel your booking less than five (5) business days before the booked walk, you can transfer it to another person (a friend or relative, for example), but you are committed to the original booked date and tour. No refund is given.
