Explore Melbourne through a chocoholic haze with tastings from the city's chocolate specialists. Ice cream, macaroons, treasures made of Swiss and Belgian chocolate...
Tour highlights (itinerary may be changed without notice – read more)
We start the tour at one of the sweetest places within QV – New Zealand Natural. Grasping the delicious Chocolate Ecstasy ice cream, we move on to a historical and architectural icon – the GPO. Cacao Fine Chocolates has turned the former General Post Office into a chocolate hot spot, and we will taste its uniquely handmade creations using traditional French principles.
Now it is time to go to the Royal Arcade. The city's oldest arcade is home to Koko Black. See the miniature chocolate factory, chat with the chocolatier who creates handmade chocolates using Belgian ingredients, then let's put our taste buds to the test. The next stop has a Swiss accent and a sophisticated atmosphere. Lindt has opened its first Chocolat Café in Melbourne, and we, chocoholics, couldn't miss its rich creations, including one of the menu highlights – Delice (the French call them macaroons, but at the Lindt Chocolat Café they are Delice).
The tour finishes with a stroll up Collins Street to one of Melbourne's best architectural examples of art déco – the Manchester Building Arcade, home to Caffé Mediterraneum. Here, a hot chocolate, tea or coffee and a freshly-made Belgian chocolate muffin cake wait to be consumed.
