chocolate lovers' walk

If you love chocolate, this tour is for you! Get in the chocolate mood at lunchtime with luxury products, hot chocolate and Belgian chocolate muffin cakes!

Tour highlights (itinerary may be subject to change without notice – read more)

The walk starts at Patchi in Melbourne Central. Patchi has its origins in France and is sure to tempt our palates with tastings of its chocolates in a setting of exquisite objets d'art and glass, including Lalique and Christian Dior. Great containers for chocolates, if they last that long.

After we are given some delicious chocolate treats from Cadbury, the tour strolls through an architectural and historical icon in Melbourne – the GPO. The former General Post Office has emerged as one of the latest hip shopping precincts and now as a chocolate hot spot. Cacao Fine Chocolates has arrived in the heart of the city and we will taste its uniquely handmade creations using traditional French principles.

Haigh's Chocolates in the Block Arcade, one of the most elegant spots in Melbourne, is our next stop. Here we combine delicious chocolate tastings with a chat about the history of the Haigh's family, whose Adelaide factory has created chocolates (and delighted chocoholics) since 1915.

The walking tour finishes with a stroll up Collins Street to one of Melbourne's best architectural examples of art déco – the Manchester Building Arcade, home to Caffé Mediterraneum. Here, a hot chocolate, tea or coffee and a freshly-made Belgian chocolate muffin cake wait to be consumed.
